Education and training programs offered through the Center are flexible and adaptive to the needs of individual employers.Customized training prices include facilities use at the CWL Training and Conference Center, but could also be delivered in other formats including at the business, off-site, instructor-led, online courses, blended techniques and as credit or non-credit.
All continuing education and customized training courses are registered through the CWL resulting in a Continuing Education transcript.
Why would we need customized training?
Customized training allows you to determine when and where the course will be delivered. You have the opportunity to imbed your material into the curriculum as you work with CWL instructors. Trainees respond better to formulating data in spreadsheets they deal with everyday versus those for the ABC Widget company. You save travel costs and avoid information overload when your employees can get 2 to 4 hour sessions delivered locally four times a week versus a full, 2-day event in the metroplex.
What are the minimum and maximum number of people needed for a customized class?
There is no set number of people required for a course. We have delivered very small classes for such topics as CPR, Excel, and programmable logic controllers. Most soft-skills classes where skill practices are encouraged such as learning to lead, conflict resolution, and team building are more effective with at least six people and a maximum of 20. We have some courses that are delivered to 200 people.
Our bookkeeper needs some QuickBooks training, but she also covers the front office during hours. How can I take advantage of training through the CWL?
We have online instructor-led classes in QuickBooks and Excel that begin monthly through Ed2Go. It’s the perfect solution for individuals with specific needs. The CWL also schedules short, face-to-face courses of general interest each month.
