Basic SWAT#3301

A five-day (60 hours) BASIC SWAT SCHOOL at Texoma Regional Police Academy. The instructors are experienced and recognized by their departments as tactical operators and trainers. This class will focus on the basic understanding of SWAT operations, including SWAT history, intelligence gathering, barricaded persons, hazardous warrants, vehicle assaults, room clearing, less-than-lethal applications, and chemical agents. This class will require physical exertion and many hours of practical exercises at various venue sites in the Sherman/Denison area.
  • Students must be certified peace officers or active military personnel, in good standing with their agency. Students must be able to provide agency ID on the first day of class.
Required Equipment:
All normal tactical equipment including;
  • BDU uniforms for a week of training (other similar tactical clothing is acceptable)
  • PT clothing
  • Operator kit (should include ammo pouches, medical kit, gas mask carrier, hydration source, holster, ear and eye protection, plates and plate carrier, ballistic helmet), Gasmask
  • Handgun and Rifle, 400 rounds of rifle and pistol ammo
  • Safety equipment for airsoft Airsoft BBs (.25g).
Pre-registration is mandatory, limited seats (15), Itinerary will be sent after registration has been completed.

Center for Workplace Learning Awarded $3.3 Million


Grayson College’s Center for Workplace Learning was recently awarded $3.3 million in funding for its joint efforts with area employers to provide specialized staff trainings.
