Overview

Course Description: 

Within the 40 hour course, students will review, discuss and interpret:
  • General rules and codes that governs issuing process, service fees and the officer’s duty.
  • Citation, subpoenas, and notices.
  • Prejudgment writs and bonds.
  • Post judgment writs, finance code, liability, exempt property.
  • Other writs, certiorari, habeas corpus, mandamus, protective orders and others.
Tuition includes the current edition of LexisNexis, Civil Process for Texas, and a flash drive with all required returns and form letters, and course handouts. Instructor, John Steinsiek, has 40+ years in law enforcement, 27+ years civil law experience, and is the author of LexisNexis “Civil Process for Texas.”

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Chief Deputy (retired) John Steinsiek has over 40 years in law enforcement, and 27 years in civil law experience. Steinsiek is a renowned instructor and authority in the field of civil process in Texas, has masterfully created a handbook, Civil Process for Texas, which can be used in the field or in the classroom. Designed for ease-of-use and quick reference, Civil Process for Texas provides the user with the law, case law which has influenced the interpretation and application of the law, and practical tips for those serving civil process. It also includes several reference charts to allow the user to answer questions pertaining to jurisdiction, delivery, fees, and documentation requirement
