Overview

Introduction

This course is specifically for uncertified nurse aides currently employed working under Texas Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) waiver. Students must be near completion of their nurse aide work training and experience and submit a copy of their LTCR Form 3767. https://apps.hhs.texas.gov/providers/communications/2021/letters/PL2021-19.pdf Potential students interested in scholarship funding must complete the application link here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Z7SNJLK This HYBRID course prepares students currently working as an uncertified aide in a long-term care facility to prepare and test for the Texas Certified Nurse Aide licensure. Students will review essential written materials and practice the necessary patient care skills required on the licensure exam. Upon successful completion, students will register and take the Texas Nurse Aide Training Competency Exam at Grayson College. Training topics include: Skills to provide direct patient care, collection of specimens, performance of a range of motion activities and measurement of vital signs. Tuition includes instruction, consumable supplies and Nurse Aide Competency written and skills examination fees. Instructor:  Amanda Grissom
