Grape & Wine Chemistry

An overview of the chemistry of grapes and wine with a focus on the impact of viticultural and enological factors.  Topics include acids, sugars, phenolics, fermentation end-products, additives, winemaking units and calculations, and soil chemistry.

Dates & Times:

This is a hybrid course.  The majority of instruction will be completed online and two weekends will be designated for classroom instruction.
  • Online portion of the class is from 8/19/19 - 12/5/19.
  • Face to face class will meet Saturday & Sunday, 9:00am - 6:00pm, October 26 & 27th;  AND
  • Face to face class will meet Saturday, 9:00am - 6:00pm, November 2nd

This class is offered through the Center for Workplace Learning as a mirrored course. Students may take the course for non-credit and if they so choose, may transfer the course to credit. A student may transfer up to 9 hours of mirrored course work to the credit side.
