Overview

Introduction

Specifically designed for maintenance technicians seeking to increase their skills and advance their careers as well as manufacturing employers seeking to enhance the knowledge and skills of their maintenance workforce, the PLC Technician training program provides a basic introduction to PLCs with a focus on practical applications and PLC troubleshooting in a plant or manufacturing environment. This four-course program is designed for students with little PLC experience and who require a safe and quick start in the fundamentals of PLC. Job titles vary for individuals who possess skills and training to operate, test, maintain, and calibrate PLCs. Electro-Mechanical Technicians typically earn wages between $18 and $30 per hour, and Industrial Maintenance Technicians typically earn wages between $14 and $23 per hour. Successful completers will earn an Occupational Skills Award in Programmable Logic Controller Technician.

Admission Requirements

Be working currently as a programmable logic technician or an industrial maintenance professional OR successfully completed an industrial maintenance training program within the last two years.

  • August 22 - December 8, 2022
  • Monday - Thursday, 1:00pm - 5:00pm
  • Career & Technology Center, Grayson College Main Campus, Denison
  • Mechatronics Lab (East end of CTC bldg)
  •  $2,799- Tuition covers all books and supplies necessary for class. Students are responsible for wearing safety toe boots to class.
